Skaramuca PLAVAC

Plavac Mali is the most important autochthonous grape variety in Croatia. It was created by crossing two indigenous Croatian grape varieties: Crljenka (known in Italy as Primitivo, and in the US as Zinfandel) and Dobričić. Plavac realizes its greatest potential in the most extreme weather conditions of the Pelječac peninsula. It is considered the king of red wines.

Generations of excellent wine lovers have built the expected quality standards for all red varieties based on the varietal characteristics of the great indigenous Plavac.

About the Producer
The tradition of viticulture and winemaking of Skaramuča family is as old as the family from Pelješac itself. The true success story of the winery starts in 1992, when its founder, Ivo Skaramuča, was enabled to operate as a private grape and wine producer in Croatia. Ivo Skaramuča was one of the founders of the private winemaking and viticulture in the Dalmatia region of Croatia and on the Pelješac island. Skaramuča is the proof of how with hard work, dedication, and love for wine, it’s possible to establish one of the most respected wine brands of Dalmatia.
