Ten small squares of white, milk and dark chocolate sit in a clear tray, several of them scattered with nuts and pieces of dried fruit, and the pack is tied at the top with a gold ribbon.
They come from Vilma, the confectioners of the island of Rab. Vilma Brna, a trained confectioner, opened the business in 1996 with a single employee, and her son Josip now runs it. The family is best known on Rab for its Rapska torta, and it also makes biscuits, chocolates and pralines.
The mix works as a tasting set, with a different flavour or filling in each bite, which makes it easy to share after dinner with coffee or a glass of dessert wine. At 55 g it also suits a small thank you.
