Product Description
A dry, unoaked Sauvignon Blanc from the eastern edge of Croatia, where the Danube bends around the vineyards of Kraljevo brdo on three sides. The river shapes the climate here, and the wine shows it: green and citrus notes with a trace of elderflower.
Royal Hill Estate farms about 45 hectares on the southern slopes of Erdut hill, on what is described as Europe's largest river peninsula. Nobles planted the first vines on this site some 300 years ago. The estate itself is young, with a new winery under construction and a range built mostly on classic French varieties.
In the glass expect ripe pear and quince with bright citrus and white flowers, a velvety touch of peach and apricot and a hint of almond. Recent vintages have won medals in Brussels and London.
Serve cold with asparagus, goat cheese, river fish or a green salad with herbs.
