A glass of Extra Dry Selection opens with green and ripe apple, pear and white peach, lifted by a light touch of citrus and flowers.
Royal Hill Estate farms 45 hectares in Erdut, on the Danube at Croatia's eastern border, where vines have been grown without interruption for more than 300 years. This sparkling wine is made by the Charmat method, with the second fermentation in a closed tank, a technique that keeps the fruit fresh.
On the palate it is fresh, fruity and harmonious, with medium body, a soft entry and a smooth, long finish. Extra dry here means a gentle roundness, with about 15 grams of residual sugar per litre.
Serve it well chilled with fish and seafood, light white meat dishes or fresh young cheeses.
