Product Description
Product Description
Tribidrag is the old Dalmatian name for the grape the world knows as Zinfandel and Primitivo, and Rizman grows it on the steep limestone slopes of Komarna, above the Neretva coast, with a view across to Pelješac. The grapes are hand-picked, fermented in tank and aged eight to ten months in French and American oak.
The Štimac family named the estate after great-grandfather Mihovil Mijo Popich, nicknamed Rizman, who lost his vines to phylloxera, emigrated to America, and came back in 1918 to replant 8,000 vines in the Neretva valley. His grandson Vlado and sons Mihovil and Damir started again in 2006 on wild, untouched ground at Komarna, which became an official wine region in 2013.
Evolved and expressive, with ripe dark fruit, raisins and dried plums, dried herbs and sweet spice. The palate is well structured, juicy and balanced by freshness.
Aerate it and serve at 16 to 18 degrees with meat dishes, pizza, pasta, cold cuts or cheese.
