Nebo is the Croatian word for sky, and the label carries the motto Per spiritum ad astra. In the glass this single malt is deep amber with red gold reflections.

It is distilled, aged and bottled at the Duh u boci distillery in Zagreb, founded by Tomo Anadolac and Hrvoje Bušić, the pilots turned distillers behind Old Pilot's gin. The base is Maris Otter barley malt, blended with other two row base malts and a small share of smoked, unpeated malt, then double distilled and matured in 190 litre American oak casks.

Bright orchard fruit comes first, followed by honey, caramel and soft vanilla, with oak spice and a faint thread of smoke in the background.

Pour it neat or with a drop of water and take your time with it.

Duh u boci (The Spirit in the Bottle) is a distillery at Kovinska 30 in Zagreb, founded by Tomo Anadolac and Hrvoje Bušić, who describe themselves as pilots turned distillers. They make the Old Pilot's gins and vodka and the NEBO Croatian small batch whiskeys, including Single Malt, Peated Single Malt and 4 Grain. The distillery reports that its Old Pilot's London Dry Gin was named best London Dry Gin in the world by the IWSC.
