Product Description
Product Description
Reserva is the step above Matuško's regular Dingač: a selected harvest from limited positions on the Dingač slope, aged in barrique. The label calls it a premium dry wine, and it has taken gold at the Challenge International du Vin in Bordeaux.
Mato Violić Matuško led the Dingač cooperative through the 1990s and bottled his first Plavac Mali under his own name in 1998, after a first try at market wines in his small Potomje winery in 1997. The family cellar in Potomje is now one of the largest on Pelješac, with twenty hectares at Dingač, Postup and Župa and tens of thousands of visitors a year.
Dense layers of ripe dark fruit, dried Mediterranean herbs and the baking spices of oak, with floral notes above them and a distinctive bitterness on the finish that balances the richness. The finish is long, sweet and smoky.
Decant two hours ahead and serve with charcuterie or lamb roasted with herbs. It can be cellared for a decade.
