Malina is Croatian for raspberry, and this jar glows a clear ruby red, the colour of the fruit stirred into honey.
It comes from Kraljev med in Zaprešić, near Zagreb, where a few hives kept as a hobby more than 30 years ago have grown into more than 900 bee colonies.
The label describes it as a proizvod na bazi meda, a honey-based product, made from acacia honey with added raspberry. Expect the mild sweetness of acacia honey lifted by the fresh, tart note of the fruit.
Stir it into tea or sparkling water, drizzle it over pancakes, panna cotta or plain yoghurt, or set it beside a fresh cheese at breakfast.
