Korak Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir Korak Wine, a great deal of attention has been placed on expressing KORAK style in this wine. It consists of a single vineyard Kamenice Sauvignon grapes from the estate, hand nurtured throughout the winemaking process. Kamenice is one of our most unique appellations, as the Sauvignon blanc wine that is born from it fully represents the terroir. Because of the lime soil which is not typical for Plešivica, it gives this wine next level minerality. S tick ing to the basics, we created a wine made to better express the vineyards and truly respect Kamenice terroir.
Grapes were handpicked, sorted and were pressed gently after short maceration, allowing optimal free-run juice to be used. It was 100% wood fermented and spent 12 months on the lees in large old oak barrels from 1935. that have been passed down from generation to generation, after which the wine was fi l led in the bottles unfiltered.
This elegant wine is bright in appearance with an inviting nose, bursting with smoky and green, herbal aromas and emphasized minerality. The palate is full-bodied, well rounded with a prominent texture and a well-balanced acidity. Fresh and pure flavors of white peach and passion fruit envelope the mouth that concludes with a lingering and rich finish. With such a complex Sauvignon, we turn to wine connoisseurs who expect something more from this variety. Drink now or allow to develop for up to 10 years.
Nose: Sophisticated nose marked by aromas of small forest fruits such as black currant and cranberry, dark cherries, dried flowers and forest soil. A hint of empyreumatic aromas like tobacco.
Palate: Well structured, soft dry wine with mild tannins. Light body, exceptional elegance and longlasting finish.
 

Korak winery is one of the best appraised and known Croatian wineries from the continental part of Croatia. They have been producing wines for few generations now, on the hills of Plešivica. Their vineyards are located on the S, SE and SW sides of the best locations on Plešivica, on 350-400 meters above the sea, each having it’s own microclimate. They grow riesling, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot gris, syrah, pinot noir and portugiser. Korak’s wines are not a product of modern technology, but a craft that combines nature, tradition and new knowledge. They strive to produce premium wines that satisfy most demanding clients.<br><br>Plešivica is a hilly region 30 km from Zagreb. The region is best known for high quality still and sparkling wines made of grape varieties suitable for cooler, wetter regions such as Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir. Along its wine road, inhabited with just over 300 people, there are 40 wineries.
