A rosé the colour of pink gold, made on the island of Hvar from Grenache and Syrah. It is light, fresh and made for long lunches by the water.
Hvar Hills farms thirty hectares on the southern slopes of the island around Poljica and Sveta Nedjelja, all of it worked by hand, with bush vines grown the old way without trellises. The winery was founded in 1991 and has sold under its current labels since 2015.
The nose is all red fruit: watermelon, raspberry and cherry, with red apple behind them. The palate is light, mineral and fruity, with a finish that stays longer than you expect from a wine this easy.
Serve it cold, around 8 to 10 degrees, as an aperitif or with seafood risotto, grilled salmon, salads or sushi. It closes with a screw cap, so it travels well to the beach or a picnic.
