Pour a glass and give it a minute. Galić Pinot Noir opens with violets, cherries and wild strawberries, and keeps unfolding as it breathes: fine spice surfaces, then tobacco and dark chocolate, until the floral fruit turns toward sweet spices.

The Galić cellar grows its wines in the green hills around Požega, and treats this delicate variety with patience: macerated, then aged for a full year in wooden barrels.

The taste follows the nose. Accentuated fruit rides on well judged acids and spice, warm from the alcohol, subtly marked by the barrel, and it will keep developing for years in the bottle.

Open it beside roast duck, mushroom risotto or a plate of mild cheeses. It is also a quietly generous gift for anyone who loves Pinot Noir.
