The wine honours those sailors and merchants. Roxanich was founded in 2005 by Rožanić, a mechanical engineer with Istrian roots, on 26 hectares of red Istrian soil near Motovun, farmed without synthetic chemicals and fermented with indigenous yeasts in open vats.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eExpect the dried fruit, nut and caramel tones that long barrel age gives a fortified red, with the sweetness held in check by acidity.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe slightly cool in small glasses with hard cheeses, dried figs or a dessert of almonds and honey.
