Six months in 225 litre French, American and Croatian oak and ten months in bottle round it off without hiding the fruit.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Buras have worked vines on the Pelješac peninsula for five generations and make wine in Potomje, the village on the other side of the ridge from the Dingač slopes. Winemaker Niko Bura's terraces on the steep southern slopes are worked by hand.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRuby purple and youthful, the nose leads with dark blueberry, plum, red cherry and blackcurrant, then violets, a touch of cocoa and coffee and an earthy minerality. The palate is dry, warm and soft, with medium rounded tannins and good freshness. Marselan and Cabernet shape the aroma, and Plavac takes over on the finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe at 16 degrees with a Neretva fish stew, grilled lamb or a plate of cured meats.
